Imagine breaking up with the love of your life and 10-15 years later, he leaves you an email or voicemail to say, “hello.”  How would it make you feel?  Bitter or hopeful?

It seems that rekindling with an old flame is becoming the new dating trend.  TV Land has a new reality show called, First Love, Second Chance?, a show dedicated to reuniting former lovers.  Before the TV Land original series aired, I wrote an article about people going back to their old high school sweethearts and long lost lovers called Rekindlers: Making Connections after Years Apart. The article provides advice on whether the old lover should be a courtship revival, or extinguished for good.  The article was originally written for Single Edition but also appears on Blogher, YourTango, Divine Caroline and More.
