Memoir
In her whirlwind Manhattan memoir (currently in progress and looking for a home) about finding love in less than a year, Lori escapes her troubled childhood and rural farm-bound family in Central New York and works her way to becoming a high-powered PR executive in NYC. At a firm bigger than the town where she grew up, she builds a career improving images while struggling to maintain her own. In a final bid to settle down before she turns 40, Lori throws away her “checklist” and re-dates an old-fashioned family man who she met three years prior. When he proposes after nine weeks, she contemplates the decision she’s made after learning that taking on his last name wasn’t the only change he had in store. Think Sex and the City meets the Honeymooners in this fast-paced story about finding love before 40 in less than a year.

Lori is a contributing dating and relationship writer for SingleEdition.com where she offers tips and advice to those who are looking for love. She also writes personal essays. Prior to SingleEdition.com, Lori was the online entertainment editor for Pomp & Circumstance Magazine, where she oversaw two celebrity-based columns, The Bizz and Bizz Buzz.
Her work has appeared in Newsday, Chicago-Tribune, Orlando-Sentinel, Healthwise Magazine, and on leading websites such as Yahoo Shine, AOL Personals, More.com, YourTango, Blogher, and Divine Caroline.
Prior to meeting her husband, The Suze Orman show featured Lori on a segment about dating and finances and a cable show in Aspen, Colorado interviewed her about being single over 35. Additionally, WE TV’s “She’s Moving In” chose the couple for a segment featuring Lori moving from her luxury high-rise Gramercy apartment to her husband’s comic-filled bachelor pad.
The couple lives on Long Island with their two young daughters and a 150 lb. St. Bernard, Thor.
“I took a memoir class with Lori and was fascinated by her story. With so many unmarried career women in their mid-thirties and forties, this book is an inspiration. I can see Lori on TV, talking about her book with her daughter in her arms.”
