Writer
Lori’s desire to be a writer living in New York City began as scribbles in a washed out corduroy three-ring binder at the tender age of nine; an ambitious dream for a child growing up on a five-acre farm in Central New York.
Her love of language stayed with her through college where she earned her BS in Journalism/Advertising and an MA in Communications. Lori went on to become a senior public relations executive for the next fifteen years, integrating her gift of gab and skillful words to publicize both people and products. Even while working in PR, she never let go of her passion. With an expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, she ghostwrote and bylined health and lifestyle pieces.
But, it wasn’t until she met and married her husband in 2007, that writing became her full-time focus. In a rapid 10-month transition from single, 38-year-old career jetsetter in Manhattan to Brooklyn based stay-at-home mom, Lori began penning a memoir, detailing her method for finding love in less than a year.
Lori is a contributing dating columnist for SingleEdition.com where she offers tips and advice to those who are looking for love. She also writes personal essays and articles on the latest celebrity happenings. Prior to SingleEdition.com, she was the online entertainment editor for Pomp & Circumstance Magazine, where she oversaw two celebrity-based columns, The Bizz and Bizz Buzz.
Lori’s work has also appeared in Newsday, Chicago-Tribune, Orlando-Sentinel, Healthwise Magazine, and on leading websites such as Yahoo Shine, AOL Personals, More.com, YourTango, Blogher, and Divine Caroline.
When she’s not busy writing or tweeting www.twitter.com/loribizz you can find her using her PR skills to negotiate her red-encased blackberry out of her two-year-old’s curious hands.
Lori lives in Brooklyn with her comic-collecting entrepreneurial husband, their daughter and a 140lb St. Bernard, Thor.
