The Writer

Lori’s dream of being a writer living in a big city began as scribbles in a washed out corduroy three-ring binder at the tender age of 9 — an ambitious dream for a child growing up on a 5-acre farm in Central New York.

Her love of language stayed with her through college, where she earned a BS in Journalism/Advertising and an MA in Communications.  Lori worked as a senior public relations executive for the next 15 years, integrating her gift of gab and skillful words to publicize both people and products.

Despite working in PR, her passion for writing never died.  But it wasn’t until she met her husband on an online dating site and married him less than a year later that writing became her full-time focus.

In a rapid 10-month transition from a single, 38-year-old career executive living in Manhattan to a suburban-based stay-at-home mom, Lori began penning a memoir detailing her method for finding love in less than a year.  Lori has written dozens of articles for online dating and singles sites, including Match.com, SingleEdition.com, JDate, SeniorPeopleMeet.com, LoveandSeek.com and SingleParentsMeet.com.  In addition to writing about love, she was the online entertainment editor for Pomp & Circumstance, where she oversaw two celebrity-based columns coined after her name: The Bizz and Bizz Buzz.

In 2010, Lori merged her passion for relationship writing with her background in the entertainment industry and launched Cupid’s Pulse (www.cupidspulse.com), a first-of-its-kind blog that takes news about the latest celebrity couples and brings their situations down to the real-world level with practical advice.

Lori has been featured in Newsday, The Wall Street Journal, Redbook, Woman’s Day and Bella Magazine, and on a variety of sites, including WebMD, AOL and Fox News.  She has also been quoted in two books, including the recently launched No Excuses by renowned activist and former president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Gloria Feldt. Lori is a member of The International Women’s Writing Guild.

Lori lives on Long Island with her husband, their two young daughters and a loveable 150 lb. St. Bernard, Thor.
