Lori Bizzoco

The Writer

aboutmewriter

Lori’s dream of being a writer living in a big city began as scribbles in a washed out corduroy three-ring binder at the tender age of 9 — an ambitious dream for a child growing up on a 5-acre farm in Central New York.

Her love of language stayed with her through college, where she earned a BS in Journalism/Advertising and an MA in Communications.  Lori worked as a senior public relations executive for the next 15 years, integrating her gift of gab and skillful words to publicize both people and products.

Despite working in PR, her passion for writing never died.  But it wasn’t until she met her husband on an online dating site and married him less than a year later that writing became her full-time focus.

In a rapid 10-month transition from a single, 38-year-old career executive living in Manhattan to a suburban-based stay-at-home mom, Lori began penning a memoir about her whirlwind romance and began her career as a relationship expert. She has written for dozens of sites, including Match.comSingleEdition.comJDateSeniorPeopleMeet.comLoveandSeek.com. In addition to writing about love, she was the online entertainment editor for Pomp & Circumstance, where she oversaw two celebrity-based columns coined after her name: The Bizz and Bizz Buzz.

In 2010, Lori merged her passion for relationship writing with her background in the entertainment industry and launched Cupid’s Pulse (www.cupidspulse.com), a one-of-a-kind relationship site that analyzes trending celebrity news to provide relatable love advice for singles and couples.

Lori has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, Redbook, Woman’s Day, Working Mother, WebMD, AOL and Fox News, to name a few. She has also been featured in the book, No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think about Power by renowned activist and former president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Gloria Feldt, and Cheat on Your Husband (With Your Husband), by Andrea Syrtash. Lori is a member of The International Women’s Writing Guild.

Aside from writing, Lori also has a passion for speaking and empowering other women. She was a panelist during Social Media Week, a presenter at the Spring, Single in Stilettos event in NYC, and she was asked by Bloomingdale’s flagship store in New York, to help launch Benefit Cosmetics’ Finding Mr. Bright Cosmetics Kit.

Lori was also one of five bloggers selected to participate in an episode of Celebrity Apprentice Season 5.

She lives on Long Island with her husband, their two young daughters and their loveable 150 lb. St. Bernard, Thor.
